Stuck working in a warehouse not getting enough hours?

I'm not getting enough hours at a warehouse, its really the only experience i have in the work force, But I want something diff, something to do with construction. I don't have any post high school education as i really don't want one. I want a construction job, and work my way up, I do have training as far as High school shop classes (Metal,carpentry) but what i think should really help me out in this field is drafting(CAD) anyways, I'm wondering what i can do to get a construction job? I'm applied at alot of places, with above being said What else?
